Chair's Message

Chair's Message"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

This quote from Margaret Mead has always been an inspiration to me. And now, as we celebrate the opening of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, these words also act as a tribute to those people who generously gave their time and money to help build this wonderful women’s hospital.

While this is a rewarding time for all of us who have served on the Lois Hole Hospital for Women Campaign, it is an even more rewarding time for the donors who made this hospital a reality. Our success is really your success: it simply wouldn’t have been possible without you. We are so grateful to our community for embracing the vision of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. Together, you have donated over $20 million to support this beautiful hospital as well as new women’s health programs, innovative treatments and research.

On behalf of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women Campaign, I want to thank you all for your generosity. Your invaluable help has made the future of women’s health much brighter.

Sincerely,
Dale Sheard

President's Message

President's MessageIn April of 2006, the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and a team of dedicated volunteers launched A Campaign About Caring. Our objective was to encourage our community to support the vision of creating a world class women’s hospital that would provide the best care, second to none anywhere, for women of all ages and in all stages of life.

Almost four years later, our vision is a reality. The new Lois Hole Hospital for Women is unlike any other facility in the Edmonton area and, in fact, the province.

We have been inspired by the overwhelming support the community has demonstrated and truly grateful for your donations totalling more than $20 million thus far.

We are proud to support the Lois Hole Hospital for Women as one of the latest additions to the Royal Alexandra Hospital family. It will be a special place of hope and healing for women across our province and country. It will also be a fitting tribute to the woman whose vision, character, spirit and enthusiasm touched us all.

Thank you for spending time with us, and remember: community support builds great hospitals.

Sincerely,
Andrew Otway
