The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation is celebrating the holiday season by transforming the Ted and Lois Hole Healing Garden into a Winter Wonderland. The festive spirit fills the night as twinkling lights adorn the many trees and shrubs throughout the roof-top garden, and perhaps bring additional comfort and cheer to those patients who must spend the holiday season in the hospital.

The Healing Garden officially opened in June and is the newest addition to the Robbins Pavilion located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.  This stunning garden features a wide variety of flowers, trees and ornamental grasses as well as stained glass artwork and water features.  The Healing Garden is furthering the goal of creating a beautiful and inspirational facility that recognizes a holistic approach to healthcare by encompassing mind, body and spirit.

“The garden has been such a huge success and was a favoured location all summer long for staff and patients,” says Sharlene Rutherford, Vice President, Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. “Even though there’s snow on the ground and chilly temperatures now, the garden can still bring hope and healing to our patients and staff.”

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation supplied the over 6,000 Christmas lights and thanks to the members of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Women's Auxiliary, 13 stunning reindeer decorations are also on display in the garden.

“It will be wonderful for staff, patients and visitors to look out the windows of the hospital and feel the warmth of the holidays," says Sharlene Rutherford. “A little bit of Christmas magic here at the Alex!”
